Update for bus travellers
We reported previously that the Premiere Red2 peak time and late evening service to Cropwell Bishophad sadly been cancelled and it is no surprise that Midland General (Sister company to Trent Barton) have also cancelled their peak time service for Cropwell Bishop.
However, for the time being, Midland General do run a new £1 Bargain Bus service into Nottingham via Cotgrave which leaves the Post Office at 08:45 (arriving at Broadmarsh 09:12). This nicely fills the gap between the 22 at 07:57 and the Radcliffe This nicely fills the gap between the 22 at 0757 and the Radcliffe Line at 0912. The Bargain Bus has a return journey from Broadmarsh at 1557 (arriving 1630)- convenient for shoppers and early commuters as it is a faster service than the Radcliffe Line.
For the longer term, The Competition Commission have produced their interim report which does leave the door open for the county to set up a local area franchise (which I believe is the right approach to eventually provide a sensible commuter and evening service for Cropwell and the Vale villages). We will keep an eye on developments.
As always check the bus stops and bus company web sites for on-going timetable changes. The most up-to date timetables seem to be found on the County site.
